The program
No. AIC is an immersion and enrichment program, not traditional one-on-one tutoring. Children learn Spanish by being surrounded by it — through storytelling, music, cultural activities, and play — rather than through drills or grammar instruction.
The initial program is designed primarily for elementary-school-aged children. If you have a question about whether your child's age is a good fit, reach out and we'll be happy to discuss it.
Classes are designed for a maximum of approximately 12 students. Small class sizes allow instructors to give each child meaningful attention and create a close-knit learning community.
AIC is planning a Summer 2027 immersion program, subject to securing an appropriate location and satisfying applicable Maryland requirements. Join the interest list to be the first to hear when details are confirmed.
Language level
No. Beginner students are very welcome. The only requirement is that your child be open to an immersive experience — classes are conducted in Spanish, and children pick up the language naturally through context, repetition, and engagement.
Wonderful — we will meet them exactly where they are and continue developing their language skills from there. Children who already have a foundation in Spanish benefit greatly from the program, and often take on natural leadership roles that build confidence and reinforce what they know.
Yes. AIC intends to develop programming appropriate for both beginning Spanish learners and heritage Spanish speakers. Preserving and strengthening a heritage language is one of the core reasons AIC was founded.
